Program Overview

"A Helping Hand," launched in 2010, provides public education retirees with charitable assistance for a one-time special need or other short-term hardship. Recipients include anyone who is receiving an annuity from the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS).

DONATE TO "A HELPING HAND" TODAY 

Applicants don't need to be a member of TRTA.

Since its inception in 2010, TRTF’s “A Helping Hand” program has awarded over $285,000 in aid.

TRTF has a generous goal of distributing $50,000 in grants through the “A Helping Hand” program for 2025-2026.
