TRTF Board Welcomes New Trustee, Jesse Ramos!

The Texas Retired Teachers Foundation (TRTF) is proud to welcome a new trustee to the board! Mr. Jesse Ramos will assume the position left vacant by Mr. Carlos Ortiz, whose term came to an end on June 30, 2019 after nine years of service. Mr. Ramos began serving his first three-year term on July 1, 2019. TRTF trustees are eligible to serve up to three consecutive three-year terms.

Ramos, who resides in Floresville, is a Vietnam veteran. He received his undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University and his Master’s in School Administration from Texas A&M in Kingsville. During his 37 years as a Texas educator, he has been an athletic director, coach, art teacher and personnel director in Lubbock ISD, East Central ISD and Floresville ISD.

"I hope my time as a Texas educator has helped in providing access to quality education for all Texas students of every socioeconomic level and ethnicity," said Ramos. "I also hope that I have communicated to co-workers and acquaintances that education is a path of hope for everyone. I’m looking forward to being a contributing member of the TRTF board."
