The Texas Retired Teachers Foundation (TRTF) is proud to present a series of videos featuring recipients of its charitable programs in honor of Foundation Month!
Classroom Assistance Grant recipient Denise Sanders from the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders in Austin, Texas, is featured in the first video for Foundation Month. Ms. Sanders teaches Biomedical Science and used her $500.00 grant to purchase micropipettors and comfortable chairs for her students to use while they work in the lab. You can watch the video and learn more here.
Beginning Teacher Scholarship recipient Bailey Beck teaches fourth grade reading, writing, and math at Hemphill Elementary in Kyle, Texas. She used her $750.00 scholarship to cover the cost of her certification test and to set up her very first classroom. Her story is the second video featured for Foundation month. You can watch the video and learn more here.
“A Helping Hand” grant recipient LaVerne Rydell and San Marcos ARTS former Local Unit President Viki Hicks are featured in the third week Foundation video. Ms. Rydell received a $1,000 gift card to Lowe’s to purchase a much-needed washer and dryer. This video will be released Friday, November 21 on the TRTA website and in the Inside Line! Please keep an eye out for it.
Lastly, TRTA Executive Director Tim Lee will discuss the Foundation’s wonderful programs as well as provide totals in aid and scholarships and grants, and let people know how they can support TRTF. This video will be released during the last week of November on the TRTA website and via the Inside Line as well.
